HELPFUL ANSWERS

Questions after
an accident?

Start here for clear information about claims, replacement vehicles, estimates and the repair process.

INSURANCE CLAIMS

Can Fairgo help me with the insurance claim as well as the repair?+

Yes. We can help organise the repair information, explain the workshop process and, with your permission, communicate with insurers, assessors and relevant claim providers. You remain in control of your claim and any final decisions.

Do I need a claim number before I contact you?+

No. Contact us with the details you have. We can explain what is normally needed next, whether that is arranging an assessment, lodging a claim or speaking with the insurer.

Can I choose who repairs my vehicle?+

That depends on your insurance policy and the circumstances of the claim. Some policies include choice of repairer while others use an insurer network. Check your Product Disclosure Statement or ask your insurer, and we can help you understand the repair information they request.

REPLACEMENT CARS

Can you arrange a replacement car after a not-at-fault accident?+

We can check whether a replacement vehicle may be available and introduce eligible customers to a replacement-vehicle provider. Availability is not automatic and depends on factors such as liability, the claim circumstances, vehicle availability and the provider’s terms.

Who pays for a not-at-fault accident replacement car?+

In an eligible not-at-fault matter, a provider may seek reasonable hire costs from the at-fault party or their insurer. The provider will explain its agreement, eligibility requirements and any circumstances in which you could become responsible for costs before you accept a vehicle.

AFTER AN ACCIDENT

What if my car is not safe to drive?+

Do not drive a vehicle if you believe it is unsafe. Call us and explain where the vehicle is located and what happened. We can discuss the practical options for getting it assessed and moved to the workshop.

Can I come straight to the workshop after an accident?+

Please call first when you can. This lets us confirm workshop access, check whether the vehicle sounds safe to drive and prepare for your arrival. In an emergency, put safety first and contact emergency services.

ESTIMATES

Can you estimate the repair from photos?+

Photos can help us understand the visible damage, but a reliable estimate usually requires an in-person inspection. Collision damage can extend behind panels, trims and structural areas that cannot be confirmed from a photo.

Why can the repair cost change after work begins?+

Some damage is hidden until the vehicle is dismantled. If we find additional accident-related damage, we document it and explain the required approval process before the extra work proceeds.

REPAIRS

How long will the repairs take?+

Timing depends on the extent of the damage, parts availability and insurer or assessor approvals. Once the repair plan is clear, we will give you a practical timeframe and update you if anything changes.

Will the new paint match the rest of my vehicle?+

We use colour information and careful refinishing techniques to achieve a seamless result. The final process can include spray-out checks and blending into adjacent panels when required.

Do you only do insurance repairs?+

No. We also assess private panel and paint repairs. Contact us to arrange an inspection and we will explain the repair options and estimate before work is booked.
